Jelena Sinik is an award-winning animation filmmaker and artist from Sydney's Eastern beaches.

She graduated a Bachelor of Media (Screen and Sound) degree at the University of New South Wales in 2014 before completing a Master of Animation at the University of Technology Sydney.

Over the years, Jelena's artwork has been projected across iconic Sydney architectural gems from Customs House in Circular Quay to the pylons of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Recently, Jelena worked as a 2D animator on the Sydney Opera House projection show for Vivid Sydney 2023, Life Enlivened, illuminating Australian artist John Olsen's paintings.

Jelena has been teaching at UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture's School of the Arts & Media since 2019 and her animations have been festival-screened and awarded internationally numerous times.

When she's not swimming, she's crafting films that seek to challenge conventional modes of storytelling and illuminate the profound magic of the everyday. Jelena's work examines the moving psychological and poetic undercurrents present within the often overlooked surrealism of everyday life.
